Notes for Abel:

His name in Hebrew is: הבל Hebel (heh’-bel) Strongs #1893 emptiness, or vanity, unsatisfactory.  In Greek:  Άβελ Abĕl (ab’-el) Strongs #6.

Abel was the second born child of Adam and Eve.  Abel was a shepherd, but when it came time to offer an offering to Yahvah, Abel offered the firstling of his flock of sheep to Yahvah in which Yahvah showed forth his respect.  However, Abel’s older brother, Cain was also offering the fruit of the ground to Yahvah, but Yahvah did not show any respect to Cain’s offering.  Therefore, Cain became envious and slew his brother.

According to II Adam & Eve, Abel was 15½ when Cain murdered him, whereas Cain was 17½ years old, when he murdered his brother. (6)

Cause of Death: Murdered

Notes for Eve:

Her name in Hebrew is: חוה Chavvâh (khav-vaw’) Strongs #2332 Life-giver.  In Greek: Εΰα Ĕua (yoo’-ah) Strongs #2096.

Adam did not name Eve until after they left Eden.  Yahvah formed Eve by using a rib from Adam while Adam slept.  From that, Adam called her “Woman.”  However, Eve was not formed in Eden, but somewhere outside the garden and then was brought to Adam.

Eve and Adam worked in the garden for seven years, (4) then the serpent (Satan) tempted Eve to eat of the forbidden fruit, in which she later gave to her husband, Adam.  Yahvah expelled them from His garden where they learned how to take care of themselves.  However, Eve was cursed as well as her husband that she will bring forth children in sorrow, and her husband shall rule over her. (5)

Eve gave forth three sons according to Genesis, but in Jubilees, she had three sons and two daughters.

After the birth of Seth, nothing else is said about Eve.
