Her real name is not known and is only known in Genesis and Jasher as “First Born,”
even Jubilees won’t mention her name.
She and her younger sisters were raised in the city of Sodom and believed the city
to be their whole world.
Yahvah sent two angels to bring her family from Sodom since it was soon to be destroyed.
Lot, her father invited the two angels into the house, but the inhabitants of Sodom
wanted the two angels brought out so that they can “know them.” Lot didn’t want
any harm to happen to his guests, so he offered her and her sister to the Sodomites.
Fortunately, the Sodomites didn’t want anything to do with the girls but threatened
After the angel-guests had blinded the Sodomites, Lot was instructed to leave the
city with his family, at which he did.
The girls left from Sodom to Zoar, and when they had entered the city of Zoar, Sodom
was destroyed. (2)
After the death of their mother, Ado, Lot and his remaining family went up into the
cave of Adullam for fear that Zoar would be destroyed as well. (3)
The First Born believed that the whole world was destroyed and there wouldn’t be
any man upon the earth to repopulate it. Her father was the only known man, so she
and her sister performed the most ghastly sin of incest. (4)
Possibly because of this sin, her name is not used in the Bible, Jasher or Jubilees.
