Notes for Jared:

His name in Hebrew is: ירד Yered (yeh’-red) Strongs #3382; descent.  In Greek: Ίάρεδ Iarĕd (ee-ar’-ed) Strongs #2391.

Mahalaleel was 65 when Jared was born.  Therefore, Jared lived to the age of 162 before he had his first son, Enoch.  Then after his birth, Jared lived to the age of 962, which was the second longest person to live that long of life before the flood.

There isn’t much about Jared in the Bible, Jasher or Jubilees.  However, there is a whole chapter on him in II Adam & Eve 17.

After the death of his father, Mahalaleel, seven heavenly looking beings visited Jared, but Jared didn’t know that it was Satan and his host coming to beguile him.  Satan appeared before Jared as the spirit of Adam (who had died a few hundred years before.)  The other six appeared unto Jared as Seth, Abel, Enos, Cainan and Mahalaleel.  Satan, (who appeared to Jared as Adam) told him that he was dwelling in Eden, and wanted Jared to join them.  Therefore, Jared did so and came down from off the mountain that he lived on and went with them to that part of the land that Cain abided.  When Jared saw the action of the children of Cain, he had never seen anything like it, so he spread forth his hands in prayer.  Satan could not stay in the place of prayer, so he quickly left with his host and left Jared in the midst of the Children of Cain.  When Jared finished praying, he saw that the host he traveled with was no longer with him and he knew who they were and asked Yahvah that he would forgive him.  Jared thought that the host that he traveled with was his forefathers.

Then Yahvah sent an angel to him and brought him back to the mountain where he dwelt.

In later years, Jared’s sons went astray from the Word of Yahvah and went down to mix with the children of Cain.  In this Jared was grieved, in which caused his death.

Notes for Baraka:

She is only mentioned in Jubilees 4:16, which is possibly his cousin.
