Notes for Mahalath:

His name in Hebrew is: מחלת Machălach (makh-al-ath’) Strongs #: 4258; sickness.

In Genesis she is known as Mahalath, but in Jasher she is known as Machlath.

The childhood of Mahalath was not an easy one since her mother, Meribah was a very abusive woman. (1)  It wasn’t until he grandfather, Abraham came for a visit and suggested through a riddle that Mahalath’s father, Ishmael send Meribah away; then the abuse ended when Ishmael remarried to Malchuth.  (2)

The rest of Mahalath’s childhood is unknown, and she is not heard from again until she married her half-cousin Esau.  (3)

According to Jasher 30:17, Esau changed Mahalath’s name to Bosmath possibly to save confusion with his other wife.

There isn’t much mentioned about Mahalath after the birth of her son Reuel.  (4)

It could be possible that Esau married Mahalath to resolve the conflicts his parents had with his first two wives.

Nothing more is known of Mibsam.

(Ishmael, Abraham, Terah, ...)
