His name in Hebrew is: נביות Nebâyôth (neb-aw-yoth’) Strongs #: 5032; fruitfulnesses.
In Jasher 25:16 he is known as “Nebayoth.”
All we known of Nebajoth’s childhood was that he was abused by his mother, Meribah.
(1) It wasn’t until he grandfather, Abraham suggested to his father that Meribah
needed to be “cast off.”
Genesis fails to tell us anything about Nebajoth, although we are told that he cousin
Esau married his sister, Bosmath. (2)
After the death of his half-uncle Isaac, he was visited by his brother-in-law, Esau
saying that he had a problem concerning inheritance. Esau couldn’t decide if he
should take all the land or visa versa. Therefore, with Nebajoth’s advice, Esau
took all of Isaac’s riches which included servants, animals and furniture and left
only the land to Jacob. (3)
