Notes for Shem:

His name in Hebrew is: שם Shêm (shame), Strongs #8035, name.  In Greek:  Σήμ Sēm (same) Strongs #4590.

Noah, Shem’s father was 502 years old when Shem was born.  Therefore, Shem lived to the age of 100 when his son Arphaxad was born.  After the birth of Arphaxad, Shem lived to the age of 600.

Shem’s father, Noah was instructed by Yahvah to build a ship when Shem was 93 years old.  When The Flood happened, Shem was 98.  Two years after The Flood, Shem had his son Arphaxad.

His father, Noah, cursed Shem’s nephew when Shem’s younger brother saw the nakedness of their father.  Shem and Japheth covered their father with Shem’s garment. (22)  When Noah learned of this, he blessed Shem and Japheth and cursed Ham’s son.

Soon, Japheth and Ham left Noah and built cities after the names of their wives.  However, Shem stayed with his father, but he named his city after his wife, Sedukatelbab. (23)

Shem lived long enough to teach his 7th great-grandson Abram the ways of Yahvah.
