His name in Hebrew is: צבעון Tsib’ôwn (tsib-one’) Strongs #6649; variegated.
Nothing is known about Zibeon individually although he is the father-in-law to Esau,
and the brother-in-law to Esau’s son Eliphaz.
It could be surmised that Zibeon helped Esau in going to battle against his brother
Jacob. All that Zibeon got from that battle was an extremely terrifying experience
as he and his brothers confronted a mysterious army that fought for Jacob. (1)
Zibeon is mentioned in Gen. 36:2, 14, 20 & 24; I Chron. 1:38 & 40. In Gen. 36:29
he is known as a Duke.
In Jash. 30:24 & 29, he is known as “Zebeon”, but the spelling of the name changes
in Jash. 36:26 - 28 to “Zibeon.”
